Chuxin Zhang is an art historian, artist, and calligrapher who focuses on redefining historical notions of femininity in East Asian culture and philosophy within contemporary transduality. Chuxin participates in the Basement Experimental Workshop at the IFA on the Aesthetics of Machine Art. She graduated magna cum laude from Wellesley College in 2024 with a major in Art History and a minor in Philosophy. Chuxin worked at the Margaret Clapp Library, Wellesley College Art Library, the Davis Museum, and participated in the workshop at the Franks Williams Collection. She published exhibition reviews for the Pentimento Magazine and the Davis Museum. (The link for my work on the Davis Museum’s Teaching/Learning with Lorraine O'Grady's Both/And is online.) As an award-winning calligrapher, her studio work and traditional Chinese four arts performances are presented at chuxinzhang.com and her senior exhibition can be found online.
