Over the past two years as a Mellon Undergraduate Curatorial Fellow Chrislyn Adeja Sterling has worked closely with the guidance and mentorship of Dr. Stephanie Heydt The Margaret and Terry Stent Curator of American Art. Executing curatorial projects such as “Out of the Shadows: Woman Modernists in the High’s Collection,” “Benny Andrews: Revival,” and “Martin Puryear: Enigmatic Forms” Adeja has focused closely on pursuing projects dedicated to American, particularly African American, artists and art.

Adeja has recently graduated from Emory University with a BA in Art History. After her 2 year stint at the High ends, she will be continuing on to The Institute of Fine Arts, NYU as the Harriet Griffin Fellow to pursue a MA in Art History with a concentration in Curatorial Studies. She has previously held internships and positions at Emory’s *BLACKSTAR Magazine, ARTPAPERS, and Museum of Contemporary Art GA.
