Nicole Kitsberg
Masters program
Areas of interest: Global histories of modernisms, provenance research, object-led approaches to memory, embodiment, performance and dance, and abstraction.
Nicole Kitsberg is a second year Master’s student. Her research focuses on the globally interconnected development of modernism, the intersection of performance and visual arts, and embodied histories of abstraction.
She graduated with First Class Honors in History of Art from the University of Oxford, where she was awarded the Gibbs Prize for the highest achievement in her cohort. Her thesis, which anticipated future curatorial challenges in memorial museums, was awarded the university-wide prize for Best Thesis and was nominated for the Association of Art History’s national undergraduate thesis award. Originally from London, she has worked at The Royal Academy of Arts, The Ashmolean Museum, and Christie's. This summer, she interned in the Drawings and Prints Department at The Museum of Modern Art and she is currently the Adrienne Arsht Intern in the Department of European Paintings at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
