Hee-Eun Kim

Areas of interest: mid-late twentieth-century avant-garde experimental art and the history of human-machine interaction, machine aesthetics.
Hee-Eun Kim is an M.A. candidate specializing in the history of modern and contemporary art, with a particular interest in the mid-late twentieth-century avant-garde experimental art and the history of human-machine interaction. Her research focuses on the intersections of technology, machine aesthetics, and the evolution of art practices during periods of significant technological advancement.
Kim previously held curatorial and research positions at art institutions, including SUUM Project and Art Center Nabi. She served as assistant curator for LUX: Poetic Resolutions at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) Museum in Seoul and LUX: New Wave of Contemporary Art at 180 Studios in London in collaboration with Fact. In her role as a curatorial researcher at Art Center Nabi, she has curated and coordinated a range of exhibitions in Seoul, advancing the discourse on media and technology in contemporary art.
