Lijie Wang is a PhD candidate in Modern and Contemporary Art. She holds B.A. degree in Art History from the University of York and received her M.A. from University College London. Prior to joining IFA, Lijie contributed her research expertise to several museums and cultural institutions, including the BBC’s documentary series Art of China and the M+ Collections. She also held a curatorial position for the Chinese Pavilion at the 56th Venice Biennale. Her dissertation examines the compelling intersection of modern toy culture and neo-Pop art since the 1980s on a global scale.
