Areas of interest: contemporary art, socially engaged practices, identity politics in art, art and mass culture.

Lijie Wang holds a BA in History of Art from the University of York and an MA in Gender Studies from University College London. Prior to IFA, she provided research support to several museums and cultural institutions, including BBC’s documentary series Art of China and the M+ Collections, as well as held a curatorial position for the Chinese Pavilion at the 56th Venice Biennale. Lijie has also co-edited with Zandie Brockett on 八家BaJia, a publication encouraging cross-disciplinary dialogues from contemporary China.
