Rebecca Salem
PhD Candidate
Areas of interest: Greek architecture, primarily of the Archaic and Classical periods. Architectural history and theory. Archaeology of the Ancient Mediterranean. Digital humanities, especially photogrammetric documentation and survey.
Rebecca Salem is a PhD candidate studying Greek art and architecture. She earned her MA in Art History and MA in Anthropology from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and an MA in Managing Archaeological Sites from University College London. She received her BA in History and BS in Anthropology from Loyola University Chicago. Rebecca has excavated in Greece, Italy, Spain, and the UK. Currently, she works on architecture and digital documentation for the ongoing excavations at Selinunte and Samothrace. She is the 2022-2023 Gorham Phillips Stevens Fellow in Architectural History at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens.
