Diana Ukhina
Diana Ukhina is a cultural researcher, curator, and multidisciplinary artist based in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. She has an educational background in sociology, chaired the SYNERGY art studio / Laboratoria CI (2015-2022), and co-founded the Bishkek School of Contemporary Art (BiSCA). Diana’s practice unfolds through explorations of art as a living process — a way of sensing, researching, experiencing, and reimagining. Currently, she explores somatic movement, inner ecology, and relationships with the environment. Diana’s experience engages with themes of cultural and social memory, gender, art history of Kyrgyzstan, museums as public heritage, methodologies of artistic research, and ways of co-weaving knowledge. She mainly works with mediums like research exhibitions, texts and books, multimedia installations, photo, video, and DJ-storytelling.
