Aïda Adilbek

Aïda Adilbek is a multidisciplinary artist and curator based between Akzhar and Duman (Almaty, Kazakhstan). She completed her BA in Art History at Kazakh National Art Academy in 2016 in Almaty and her MFA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths, University of London in 2020 in London. After returning to Kazakhstan, she co-founded Almaty-based artist collective MATA in December 2020. In 2023, she co-founded Bölme, a multidisciplinary school for creative practitioners in Almaty. Adilbek’s works were presented at screenings and festivals, such as goEast23 Film Festival (2023), Qara Film Festival (2023), Jean Rouch International Film Festival (2024), Janub Shamoli Women’s Film Festival (2024), Performissima II (2025). She is a laureate of Sound Art Residency at Musée du Quai Branly in Paris (2023) and a recipient of the Prince Claus Fund’s Seed Award 2023.
