Area of interest: American art and architecture; urbanism; art and science; art and technology; ecology.
Tyler C. Spencer graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in English and Interdisciplinary Studies. His current research considers the interaction of art, science, and technology in the United States during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. He is currently writing a thesis on Timothy O'Sullivan's geological survey photography of the American West.
